What happened

The NYC Health Department is investigating the hot water system at North Shore Towers, a residential complex on Grand Central Parkway in Queens, after two residents were confirmed with Legionnaires' disease (reported October 4, 2026). The department said this is not a community cluster investigation, that Legionella had not been confirmed at the complex at that time, and that there is no risk to the surrounding community. Onset dates have not been published. Figures are provisional.
