What happened
The NYC Health Department investigated 3333 Broadway, a five-building apartment complex in Manhattanville/West Harlem, after two residents were diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease within roughly one year. Testing pivoted from cooling towers to the hot-water system shared by Towers A and B, which tested positive for Legionella in early February 2026; remediation was ordered and the city was still monitoring as of late July 2026. This is a separate cluster from the summer 2025 Central Harlem cooling-tower outbreak.
