What happened

Two employees who worked at General Motors' Cole Engineering Center at the Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan tested positive for Legionnaires' disease in September 2025. The Macomb County Health Department was notified and GM closed the building, which houses about 10,000 workers, while a third-party firm tested the building's water systems. GM has not confirmed the building as the source of exposure. Figures are provisional.
