What happened
Two patients at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System's University Drive campus in Oakland tested positive for Legionella; the Department of Veterans Affairs confirmed the cases in mid-May 2026. Crews treated and flushed parts of the building's water system as a precaution. The medical center's water supply itself had not tested positive. Figures are provisional.
