What happened
Norwegian Cruise Line has notified guests of three confirmed Legionnaires' disease cases among passengers who sailed aboard Norwegian Prima in May and July 2026. NCL says it is working with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and has closed all public hot tubs and private balcony heated whirlpools until sampling and any required remediation are complete. All Legionella test results onboard the ship have been negative so far, and it is not established whether the three guests were exposed onboard or from another source. The 3,099-guest vessel sails seven-night Caribbean itineraries from Port Canaveral, Florida. Figures are provisional.
